The
newly released diary of 14 year old Rutka Laskier who is being described as
“the Polish Anne Frank” vividly depicts the world crumbling around her as
she came of age in the Jewish ghetto of Bedzin in 1943. She died a few
months later in Auschwitz. A Polish friend safeguarded some 60 handwritten
pages in Rutka’s notebook and recently made it’s existence known. |
