On her 15th birthday in March 1996, Bat-Chen Shahak was killed by a suicide bomber in Tel Aviv. She was a gifted teenager leaving behind a rich legacy of diaries, letters, poems and drawings  She wrote about everyday life:  teachers, friends, the angst of young love and her yearning for peace in the world. This compilation captures the life of a sensitive teenager living in a country not at peace. This is the first English translation of her writings. Ages 9-12.
